But I'm happy to report now that the album is completely finished, including the sole original track Revolution 99 (Unfinished Music), which is at once an ode to Lennon's experimental musique concrète works with Yoko Ono and to the Occupy Wall Street movement, whose impact is still felt, more than four years after its inception, through countless splinter groups and activists that carry the torch of peace and justice for all, by any means necessary (I would consider Black Lives Matter activists in this category, to whom I dedicate the previous track on the album, Blackbirds Matter).
Lennon reportedly said of the Beatles track Revolution 9 that he was trying to paint a picture of a revolution using sound; I have now done the same, but with the sound-palette of my generation, and with the indispensable help of my friend and comrade Zachary Corsa (of Lost Trail fame).
The album has been submitted for online distribution, but it may take a few more days (if not weeks) before it is available for purchase at iTunes and other virtual retailers. But you can pre-order the album at my music homepage, which would be totally awesome and appreciated; as soon as the album is live, I'll personally send it to you and you'll be among the first to own and listen!
Thanks again for all your support. I hope you like what you hear in my renditions of Lennon's most provocative works for peace, love, and revolution!
