As I've previously written, Word Up Collective (of which I am a part) is raising funds to re-open in Washington Heights. I love these people and the spaces we create, so I absolutely can't wait til it's back in full swing. In the mean time, we're popping up all around NYC, especially in the Heights.
On December 7th, I'll be performing at Darling Coffee, a benefit event for the Word Up Bookshop indiegogo drive. If you're in the city, please join us! Click here to RSVP on facebook and/or invite your friends. And if you can't make it for whatever reason, then please consider contributing online at this link. Word Up is amazing and totally deserving of your support!
And if I may interject a quick political note - Word Up is a project of Seven Stories Institute, a 501c3 organization. So all donations to our campaign are tax-deductible! Wouldn't you rather give your monies to an organization that is actively working toward peace and justice in Washington Heights through education and culture than to the US govt, which is known to spend over half of US income tax dollars on "national defense" (aka the bloated US military, stationed worldwide)?
On December 15th I'm playing another show, at Swan Loft in Brooklyn. More details on this show soon to come!
FREE music all over the internets! I've just uploaded my Christmas album A Light Has Dawned (recorded in 2006) to both NoiseTrade and YouTube, where you can download or stream it (respectively) for FREE. While you're at it, you might as well download my new album Heliotropism from BandCamp, also free! Hope you enjoy the tunes and that they bring extra cheer to your holiday season!
War is over(!) if you want it.
Happy Christmas from me.
